WOYWW - #96

Good morning everyone! I have been busy taking care of other projects so have not been participating on Wednesdays for awhile, BUT I have snooped around a little. I am sorry I did not leave comments for you though. Since the Festival (previous post) I have not done any cards, shame on me. Yesterday I pulled out a project that has been being worked on for about 20 years, yes 20. I really have to be in the mood, lol. Anyway I swear I am going to finish it in this lifetime. I am into the handquilting part and I am not great at it and am very slow. My girlfriend is doing cross stitch and wanted me to find something similar so we can spend a couple of hours a week just chatting about different things in our lives. So this is all put together as far as it can be until the quilting is done.

As soon as I laid it out on the table, my pretty Sassy claimed it. She thinks it is her new sleeping pad and has spent most of her time sleeping on it. I am having to redo the quilting pattern on it since it is worn off in spots. I can't believe any of it is still there after all these years and the many moves I have had. It is going to be a wall hanging when finished. Well I will be checking as many of you out over the next few days. Thanks for visiting me.

What a beautiful quilt. Quilting is on my 'maybe one day ' list . Love the look not sure I've got the patience.

Cute cat! Love the quilt! I tend to have projects I finish quickly and others that take a while. Good luck quilting. Thanks for sharing! Vickie #88

20 years... good grief, you must have the patience of Job to be able to keep going back to something that long, but Sassy looks like she has her claim in first so I have my doubts that this will end up on a wall!! ;)

There is nothing like a bit of handquilting especially in the cooler evenings. I have some old pieces never finished but I think 20 years is just a little too long even for me! Enjoy completing it and show us when you finish it. Thanks for visiting me. I will put some more examples of my books and a requirements list on the weekend.

What a gorgeous quilt - your Sassy has great taste in sleeping places! My mum has a quilt she started making for me many years ago, and I reckon it will emerge one day (it has all kinds of medieval instruments on it). Yours has such pretty and delicate flowers, I'm sure you'll get it done. I can see why you have to be in the mood though!

Enjoy the stitch & chat with your friend, and thank you for your lovely comments on my blog,

Your quilt looks very nice. And yes...handquilting takes time. I also have a quilt waiting for handquilting. Thanks for visiting my blog and...

Did you see my machine quilt project - 29/03/2011. It works really fast and sometimes that's fun too.

Sassy is a real beauty and obviously a real cat as she knows quality when she sees it (and takes it for herself LOL).

I admire you for taking on such a big task - by hand! It is beautiful. Look forward to seeing it grow - thanks for sharing. Hugs - neet x

Had to laugh...it took you 20 years to be in the mood to quilt again...I have projects like that too!

Sassy cat definitely knows how to live the good life!!! And you know how picky they are, so this quilt must be a really soft and comfy one.
