WOYWWW - #82

Well happy after Christmas and awaiting a new year! I am posting late in the day for me as I have a little job each day this week taking care of my friends' dog and two cats while they are on vacation. The doggie left me nasty presents Monday and Tuesday, but not today thank goodness. She has the same vanilla carpet as I and a "nasty" can be cleaned, but it takes time and the proper cleaning products. I have pee pads all over the place. I think Daphne is a little annoyed to be left home alone with the kitties. Anyway they are sweet and they know me so all is well.

My crafts are slowly edging their way out of the bedroom. Since my grandson is now back in the States from deployment he will be coming home on leave and I am so very, very far behind in his first deployment scrapbook, about two years, and I am feeling badly about it. So you see his scrapbook, my Cricut, as I want to write out the country name for a heading for each section.. My fruit/cake stand is full of my Elizabeth Bell stamps (used at Christmas), and my Christmas present to myself, a Butler Bag. I am still trying to get all of my special holiday plates, etc. back into their places and a pickup around the house. Good thing I live alone, although I am a little fanatic about "everything has a place and should be in its place" when not in use.

I did make it around to everyone last week, but a few would not take my comment, so if you did not receive one it is not because I didn't try. Have a safe and Happy New Year!!

SANTA'S BABY BOY & WOYWW #81

I managed to get to everyone's desks last week! Left comments on most of them. If I had to try and post my comment more then twice I moved on to the next.

This is not my work space of course. It has been put completely out of sight on the spare bed, now also piled with presents, so in checking the temp today I took a very poor pic of the outside of my front door The wreath on the railing has a tall birdhouse built as a church sitting to the right. No I have never had any birds as it usually is decorating some room in the house. So in loo of a desk pic I thought I would share this true story with you and hope my girl friend does not mind. When she was 3 yrs. old she woke up Christmas morning and ran to the tree. Her Mom was in the kitchen and C. went running in excitedly to tell her Mom to come quick and see what Santa had left under the tree. Her mother had given birth 10 days before (and back then you had to stay in the hospital for 10 days and also the baby had a small breathing problem), so the baby was not allowed to leave the hospital until Christmas Eve night. Now C's grandfather had been telling her that once the new baby arrived she would no longer be the little princess, which annoyed Mom a whole lot. She thought long and hard about how to counteract all the put downs about the arrival of the new baby. She did not want C. to be jealous. She finally had the thought that one could not be jealous of something you owned. So you guessed it - when the baby was brought home he was placed under the tree. So now as they are oooing and ahing over the baby, C. looks up at her Mom in her 3 yr. old innocence and asks if she has to take care of the baby all by herself? Mom smiled and told her she would help her. I loved C's mom like she was my own and she is now gone. This was the first time C. told me the whole story of her Christmas brother and it was so, so cute I just had to share. I hope you got a warm feeling, a smile on your face, and a little chuckle. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

WOYWW - #80

Well it is Wednesday again and it is time to play Ms. Dunnit's game. Drop over to her blog to find out what it is all about - http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/. It is so much fun to snoop out everyone. Well I found time to change my U.K. clock and now it has disappeared and I can't remember where I got the darn thing to begin in the first place. Oh well, I'll run across it sometime.

Sorry for the very poor picture, very late at night. To the left is my brand new score buddy, finally. I also ordered some liquid applique and a bow easy, all from Gina K. This is actually a TV tray that I carry back and forth to the table, there are about three different kinds of colored pencils, cardstock, my clipboard for coloring when watching TV, colored and design paper, actually all just thrown together.

Well I have put the cards on the back burner for the next week or so as there are other things claiming they come first right now. So I am dumping everything on the spare bedroom until I can put away in proper place (ha!) or bring back out to the table. So nothing exciting here, but I appreciate it when you stop by anyway.

It is 35 degrees outside right now. Yes I know to most of you that probably sounds warm. I am from the mid-west originally so I know bad winter weather, but after living in Florida since 1996 the body changes and doesn't take well to the lower temps. Fortunately it doesn't stick around very long. Very smart of me to keep my nice winter coat, etc.

Sorry I couldn't get around to everyone last week, I think I made abut half the list and thanks to those that dropped by to visit me. Keep warm where ever you live!

U.K. Clock

When I have time I will look at the clock on by Blog. I guess I use this one because I am so use to using military time, which runs from 0001 after midnight and after you get to 12:00 noon you add one hour for 1:00p.m. which becomes 1300 hrs., 2:00 p.m. becomes 14 hrs., etc., so at midnight you are now at 24 hrs.

WOYWW - #79

Oh my gosh, is it Wednesday already? I don't have anything to show differently then last week as far as my work space goes. I have finished my cards and am now into the "getting ready for the parties" cooking and baking phase of December. Sorority Council party is this Thursday eve and our Chapter party is Sunday, husband's invited. We allow them to attend once a year, whether they want to or not. LOL We have a potluck and exchange of gifts and everyone has a great evening out. We seem to be in our Winter phase in Florida this week. Not as bad as up North, but cold for Florida. I can take a few days of it and then I am ready to get a little bit warmer. NOT hot, just comfortable mind you.

As usual I forgot to take pics of my cards before sealing them up, don't know why I do that time after time. This is very pastel and hard to see on here. It is an image by Elizabeth Bell. The background paper is a delicate lavendar and chalk sponging around the image. The next pic is my "Christmas Tree" this year. I quit putting up a real tree a couple of years ago since I am now the only one in the house and Christmas has been being held at one of my sons' homes. Although it is back at my house this year. WHAT? I have a designer tree from our gift shop the Rustic Rose in the middle, the gumdrop tree and candy ribbon tree I bought at the Merry Workshop, and the little wire trees with bells for ornaments are little gifts for my sorority sisters (not my exchange gift), and the two stuffed snowmen laying there are going on boxes of cookies for our two legacies (girls too young to join the sorority yet), but we incude them in some activities a couple of times a year. So if you don't know about WOYWW pop over to http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and see what all the fun is about on Wednesdays.

WOYWW #78

Where have the Wednesday's gone? I have missed about 3 weeks of posting. This is a very busy month, and into December for everyone isn't it? Am trying to get my cards finished for my sorority girls as our party is Dec. 12 (don't laugh you bloggers who can make a 15 minute card). I am very slow I admit, or maybe I have ADD these days or is it "the old timers disease" taking place. Well in any case I do get there eventually.

Here is my table with some of my cards, cutter, plus a package ready to mail to my girlfriend in Illinois with her Christmas presents. Then there is the single sheets of paper and a pack of My Minds Eye, Winter Wonderland paper, glue stick, ink, and stamps I am using (Elizabeth Bell and some Stampin' Up. Then the coffee table has my pencils and chalks.

For those of you who would like to know how the Sarasota Jr. League Merry Market Place was this year. It was a great big BUST. No one has figured out why hardly anyone came and of those that did attend, they were not spending money. We asked if they were shopping for a present(s) and they said things like - "No, I'm the only one left in my family and I have no friends", sad if true. Asked if they were shopping for something for themselves - "No.." Please folks this is an annual charity event for the Jr. Leagues. On Thursday evening it was for ladies only and cost $25.00. Well it turned out to be ladies night out as they headed for the food and drinks (drinks were a cash bar and not included in the ticket) and then left. Friday and Saturday there was a $5.00 charge to enter. Sorry, but if I paid money to get in, I am most likely going to spend some money or I am not going to be there. Maybe I am the Crazy one.

We were probably the only booth that decorated for Christmas. Well it is quite obvious I need to do some research to find out why my pics never go on the blog where I want them. Sorry!! I am too tired to spend any more time tonight to try and get them straightened out and it will probably take forever for me to figure out what I am doing incorrectly. So see you on your blogs.

These are the cards I have been working on for my sorority sisters. They are Elizabeth Bell images from Belles "n Whistles" from 2009. Got them too late to use last year. Not very fancy, but adorable in person anyway.

OCS CARD

I forgot to take a picture of the card I sent to my OCS partner, so I have picked it up off of her blog. It is framed in red grosgrain ribbon, done with colored pencils, and some glitter. The image is one of Elizabeth Bell's 2009 series bought through Belles 'n Whistles.

See you Wednesday on WOYWW.

WOYWW #76

HappyWednesday everyone! It is a beautiful day here in my part of Florida. We finally had a little rain last night, but need more. I have missed about three weeks in a row for WOYWW and have to rush out soon and do my banking and get the rest of the things I need to participate in the Sarasota Jr. League Merry Marketplace from Thursday evening through Saturda. My friend and I are excited about taking part in this very upscale and popular event, it will be our first time. Just when I think I have everything packed up, I remember something else. So if anyone in the area happens to attend pleas drop by and say hi. I don't have our booth number, but we are the Gold Canyon Candles. I started this at 10:00 this morning and called away and now it is after 1:00 p.m. So go the Days of Our Lives, LOL.

I have been busy also with trying to squeeze in making my Christmas Cards. I have a few done. Fortunately for me I don't send out that many cards any more so am close to being done. This is the card I received from my November OCS partner Sharon in California. As usual I forgot to take a pic of the one I sent to her. Next is my house with craft supplies ALL over the place. Not a good picture, but the best I could do. It is all over the two counters, on the table, on the coffee table, on the end table. and a table you cannot see. Got to eat my sandwich before it burns. Sorry I am having trouble getting this last pic on here, so will try again a little later.

The nights here in Florida have been quite cool at night, which I love and warm during the day. Just perfect!! HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY to all our service men and woman, we love you.

My grandson's Veteran's Day card is still sitting here unmailed. Shame on me, the day just popped up on me.

OCS CARD & COMPUTER BACK ON LINE

This is just the cutest card!! It is my card from Elena as my OCS partner for October. She also finished off the inside and the BACK of the card. So much lovely work! I do not have any of these adorable images/stamps as yet. Thank you Elena so much. I can't remember if I e-mailed you or not since my computer has been so messed up I had no idea what it was doing with anything.

Well, back on line - but with Windows 7 in place. I was just getting to figure out some of Vista, which I hated, and now I wonder how many months or years it will take to learn the ins and outs of Windows 7. So now I will be trying to play catch up with everyone's blogs. Hope everyone is well and happy!!

Aren't these sunflowers beautiful! I was at my son's house the other day when a florist called and asked if I was home. I told her I was not and she said she had a flower delivery for me and she would leave it on the lani in the shade for me. My son and grandson starting laughing as I said I had no idea who would be sending me flowers, so I thought they knew about it. They said, "you must have a secret admirer", heaven forbid. So they kept saying they didn't do it and maybe they were from my other grandson (in the Navy). So finally when I got hom they were indeed from my wonderful Mitchell, my birthday was past, so whatever for I wondered until I opened the card. Basically thanking me for the caring I do of everyone in my life, especially my children and grandchildren and for arranging for his ship to receive shipments of cards from "Operation Write Home." It was a very sweet card. He will be coming home from his second deployment soon. We are so very proud of this young man as some of you already know from reading my blog. I only brag once or twice a year to all of you, LOL.

CRUNCH TIME...

meaning I am trying to get my Halloween cards completed and mailed or delivered. I am a last
minute person, always start out in plenty of time and then ...........it starts slowing down and I realize I have wasted time and am now playing "catch up".
This is a High Hopes stamp I ordered from Stamp and Create. She is called Standing Witchy Poo and I have the Sitting Witchy Poo. I just love High Hope stamps and I can always count on Stamp and Create to have them to me in less than a week, and bless her heart she always adds a little extra surprise goody in the envelope. Thank you Lacey! I need to get off here and finish my last two cards. Have a fun and safe Halloween with your kids!!

OOOPs

Well I guess it was pretty hard to see the change on the previous post, as I forgot to upload the pic. So we try again.
Well as you can see, if you follow my blog, my craft room has had to go back to being a bedroom. Most of the makings are in the drawers and the bookcase, but the large table had to be taken out and replaced by a bed. I am in need of a roommate, even though I really don't want one. It just makes good financial sense to try and find someone to share expenses with me until I can rid myself of some bills, LOL. I will post some Halloween cards as soon as I receive my new stamps and get them made. Hoping they arrive in the mail today or tomorrow as I am running very close to the DAY.

WOYWW-#68

Hello my fellow bloggers! What a week so far. I did not get to to this last week and I don't think I got to check out many of you as we have been very busy practicing for our play and getting everything together for our sorority birthday party this Thursday. It has been fun, but I think it grew to be a bigger job then we had intended. So no card making or much else except getting cards to OWH and some personal cards done and mailed. Also mo ved my grandson over to his Dad's house into the back apartment. I hope all of his things are out of my house, once again.

Well my room is a little out of kilter right now as I had to take down the cardtable and threw all of that mess onto the table and floor or where ever I could find a flat surface. The corkboards I put up on the wall - one of them keeps falling down. I may also be losing what I thought was going to be my craft room as I desperately need a roommate to help with expenses. Don't really want one, but so goes life. So I have a friend who has referred her friend to me and she came and checked out the house, etc. a week ago and says she will move in. She is going through a messy divorce and it is not final until the end of October, so things may well change by that time, but I really hope she is able to take it for a few months anyway until she decides what changes she is going to make for her future. Well I am off to do housework, which has been neglected lately. So enjoy and have a wonderful week and weekend.

BEEN BUSY

Hello Bloggers, it has been awhile since I have been on my post. I have been busy typing scripts and getting ready for the play we are going to do for my sorority's birthday dinner next week. It has been a trip. We aren't having a lot of rehearal's as everyone works and hard to get everyone together, but we are not professionals and half the fun may be the possible flubs we do. Should be fun.

My youngest grandson is staying with me for awhile until the apartment at his Dad's is ready for move in time. Keeps me busy running him back and forth to work since I live on the other side of the river and out a ways. Is this keeping me young or not? Good question some days. At least he is one of the fortunate young people to have a job even if it isn't a very good paying one. Hopefully better days will come again.

This card is the one I received from my August OCS partner. Isn't she just the most darling little girl you have ever seen. I love this card! Thank you so much Janis K. in Hawaii!

I am still checking all your blogs, just not as closely as the past until things slow down a bit. Hae a great week.

HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Hi all you bloggers! For all of you on the road this weekend, please have a safe and happy weekend. For those of us at home whether with family or alone, love your family and friends and take joy in the togetherness, and stay safe also.

Here is the card I made for my August OCS, she should have it by now. We were suppose to try and do an Asian theme, but this was as close as I could come with my supplies. Hope you likes it anyway.
We just had another 15 minute cloud burst and now thunder. Suppose it is going to do this almost all weekend. I have no plans, so doesn't bother me and most people will have a contingency plan for ran. Most Floridans are aware of this. So have a happy whatever you are doing.

WOYWW - #64

.
Good morning Wednesday people. I had this all typed and then a glitch, so trying again. I did get around to everyone's desk last week. It took me until very late Friday night, so you can imagine I didn't do much else all week. I am always amazed at how different and yet so alike we all seem to be with our fun. I was unable to open 3 sites - Wipso I have never been able to open yours and I can't think of the other two right now. They pop up and then fly right away and I get a pop up and I will have to write down what it says for you. Bad Memory.
Well I guess my table doesn't look that bad. To the left is the envelop ready to mail to OWH, to the right of that is another project that I need to start as a gift (it is a wall hanging) and who knows when that will be completed, a card just completed for the Feb. festival sale, and some more cards for festival, at the top of the desk are a few of my colored pencils, a pencil holder that I keep things I can never find like my exacto, blender pens, you get the idea. As you can see I have added some cork squares above the desk and have put up some of the OCS cards I have received over the year. I put up the squares and came back a while later and they had all fallen off the wall. Oh Boy! I thought if this are falling down empty what will happen when I start handing things on them. Put them back up and pressed really, really hard on the corners and so far they have not fallen down again. Cross my fingers! Have a great week and enjoy your run through all the desks.

WOYWW - #63

Hi everyone!! I hope Mr. Blogger is not made at me this week. I understand many of you were unable to use the comment section. A BIG thank you to those that either e-mailed me or went on the previous post to comment. How wonderful! I don't know about the computer today, it seems to be acting up already for me. Well there is not a big change on my desk today as I have been very busy typing up legal papers for a couple of people and I attended my first group meeting for my new business selling Gold Canyon Candles (they have other products also). I have my personal website set up and will put it on my sidebar, in case anyone is interested. I do need to check with the home office as I do not know if we can sell outside the states. It is probably going to be a matter of whether to they ship direct or not outside, other then Hawaii and maybe our territories.

You can see another stack of cards completed for sale at a festival and OWH. There are two H.M. images on my clipboard just about ready to place on cards. My Gold Canyon catalog, most of the rest is the usual. Hopefully by the end of the week I can get back to my cards.

I did make it around to everyone's blog, but did not leave a comment on everyone's due to time constrictions. I just want everyone to know I do see you desks, room, creations, etc. even if I do not comment. Everyone is so much more creative then me. I just can't seem to get passed doing simple cards. I keep hoping that part of me will kick in one of these days. Take care of yourselves and I will probably not start hopping around until evening. Have to go out and give my money away to those lenders and deliver the legal papers, you know all the unfun stuff in life. Take care and hope you all have a lovely rest of the week.

WOYWW - #62

Good morning, well afternoon in the UK. Well another peek at my work desk Wednesday for those that are checking. I have been fighting with my computer this morning and this is not good as I have a lot of Sorority work to be done on here today and getting my WOYWW pics up. It is raining and cooled off for a while this morning. Go to Julia's blog to find out all about WOYWW,

http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com.

I finally made it around to everyone's desks last night, but I did not leave a comment for everyone as I would never make it through the list. So hopefully everyone gets a comment at one point or another. Thank you so much for those that left me comments, after all that is one of the fun things about posting.

On my desk today, yes it is messy today folks, is the Navy album for my Grandson of his basic training and his first deployment. He is NOW on his second deployment. I just noticed there are only about 4 pages left in this album and I have about 400 pics to put in it. Oh, oh - not a good thing. Guess I need to add pages, which I hate doing, or buy another album. Also, are cards added to my stack of cards for the festival to sell and cards completed for my next pack to OWH. Had to clean off the cardtable as I have my samples for Gold Canyon Candles and am awaiting my paperwork and website for this new adventure. Will list my website on sidebar when completed, just in case anyone wants to order candles as Christmas presents, etc. Enough about that. Next I have to completed some work for Beta Sigma Phi and post it to them. Among all of you there must be a least one Beta Sigma Phi sister, let me know who you are please. Will start visiting after I complete my BSP work. Have a great day and thanks for dropping by to see me.

HAPPY WEEKEND

everyone. Some of you have are just starting your weekend and over here there are still a few hours to go before they can jump up and down for joy. I had a sorority meeting last night and we are working hard on the program and skit for the birthday dinner for Beta Sigma Phi. Just finished packing and filling out the custom form for a care package to my grandson, which my sorority helps fill as a community service. I always cringe when they tell me the postage!

The lovely card is from my July OCS partner, Myra. I love the color combination and the flowers and the center embellishment. Is it not a great card? She also included a couple of small stamps which are designed/made in Hawaii (a little monkey and his slice of watermelon and of course because she loves turtles the other is a cute little turtle and also some ribbon to the right. Sorry this is such a dark pic. Thank you so much Myra! Well I have too many irons in the fire right now and had better get a couple of them done today, so you all have a blessed and happy weekend with your families.

COLOR ME RED

My thanks to Sandra who brought to my attention that MY "word verification" was on. I had it off, but as some of you know my computer has been a great pain the past couple of months and perhaps the techie put it on. I don't really know, but I have put it back in the NO position. If anyone finds it is still on at some point, please comment or send me an e-mail and let me know. Thanks again Sandra.

Also, my U.K. clock is on military time, so if you have never been in the service or worked a job where it is used it will confuse you. At midnight it is 00 hours, 1:00 a.m. is 0100 hours and so forth until noon which is 1200 hours, 1:00 p.m. becomes 1300 hours, and so on as you add 12:00 p.m. plus the normal hour, sorry if you are totally confused now, but best I can do with explanation without doing a 24 line explanation. Have a great day and thank you for your comments, your support is giving me the energy I need to do more.

WOYWW - #61

Good morning everyone, guess it is afternoon in the UK. Since I managed to get my first post on a Tuesday somehow, I went and found a time clock showing UK time and is now on my blog, LOL. Hopefully this will keep me on track with the actual day of the week and time.

I managed to get around and look at everyone's desks, unfortunately I did not leave comments for everyone. It took me about 3 days to just look and read them all and I really hate the word verification, they are so time consuming and I end up having to do them 2-3 times before the comment takes. Have no idea why. So enough blathering. Here is my work area this morning. I have just finished the scarecrow which is going on a card for "Operation Write Home", the small stack of cards on the upper right is for OWH; the stack below them are being put together as a fundraiser in March, there is another piece (the heart) which is going on another OWH card, I have all of my colored pencils, nesties, well you can see it has some work on it today. I confess I do take the images and color while I watch TV. Oh there is a stack of uncolored images generously mailed to me by Curt (Curt's World) to use for kid cards for OWH as I don't have a lot of stamps suitable for small children. Curt's the best and I thank him so much for helping me out. Have a great day and thanks for looking!!

So many of you left comments for me and I really appreciate it and I got so many ideas checking out all of you.

THE VISITORS

On my last post I told you I had taken in two dogs that were running loose. A lady finally saw my "Found" poster on the door at the local 7/11 store and called me and gave me the street where she thought they belonged. She did not know exactly which house, so yesterday I got in my car and went looking on this street, thankfully, it was deadend two block area. I found a neighbor outside and asked if they recognized the description of the dog, actually I asked two different people. They both said the guy lets the dogs run on weekends. Got the house number and let them know I had the dogs and my phone number. About 5:30 p.m. a young lady called and asked if I had the dogs and she came right over and got them. I politely let her know that most of the people where I live would have called Animal Control, which obviously the owners never called to see if they had them. And if they had called they would have found out I had the dogs and the A.C. would have given them my number. Seems the dogs are wandering further and furthe from home each time. Right behind my house is a very busy highway and we have many accidents and roadkill everyday. So I explained that now that they knew where my house was located and I would take them in I hoped they would not return as I would have no choice but to call Animal Control. I just really wanted to get across to this family that if they

cared at all about these dogs they were going to have to take better care of them.

So no more sagas for awhile, believe me with a dog and cat of my own it was quite enough as they could NOT be put together at all. All is well. This is a terrible pic of the dogs, they just would not stay still, if they weren't jumping around, they were climbing on me - they really are so much cuter then this picture.

LAZY SUNDAY

Just a nice lazy Sunday, hot again. Yesterday two little dogs were running loose and I like a fool brought them into my screened porch hoping I could find their owners. They are so cute, but barkers and I already have a barker of my own. So last night was a nightmare. Every little noise set all three dogs off. I am going to try and get a pic to put on here, if they will stay in one place long enough, HA!

Isn't this little Enjoy card just the cutest? I had mentioned I didn't have but a couple of images to use for kids cards for Operation Write Home and our great friend Curt sent me some to color for some of my cards. A great big heartfelt hug to Curt! He i s always there to help others.
Tried for a good pic, what a chore! The dogs would NOT stay still, jumping all over me, running around, finally gave up trying to get a decent cute picture, but I did get one. Will wait until sometime tomorrow and try and get a better one to post. Riding to Northport with my girlfriend to pick up something she bought on E-bay, about a 45 min. drive so if the little darlins are still here will try for better picture or post what I have taken. One way or another they have to leave. I have my hands full with my own pets. Really don't want to turn over to the shelter!! They haven't been on the loose long. One has a collar, but no tag, the little one has nothing, but looks like she had pups recently and I hope she doesn't have babies looking for her. They are very well taken care of and well groomed. Put poster at my club house and have looked for Lost posters in stores in area, and put on Craig's List. Can't believe no one is looking for them. Well enough is this going on and on. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

WOYWW

Well I have decided to take the plunge and participate on What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Not a great pic, took from the door into room. I just cleaned up the desk on the left from all of the cards for OWH, which have been mailed, my card to my grandson, and my July OCS. Card table has various papers, cards I have received, etc. and will be glad when it is all sorted out. The three drawer plastic drawers hold rubber stamps, ink pads; the dresser is full of cardstock, DP, stamp sets, and the top holds a bin for 12 X 12 papers, a basket of some of my ribbons, one for flowers, pearls, and the like.. The binder holds my cling stamps, indexed. I have a few storage boxes in two closets yet to find a home in this room. My punches are on a shelf not shown in the picture on the left wall. Next week will not be so picked up as am starting a new bunch for OWH and am working on notecards for a festival to be sold as a fund raiser for my sorority.

CASED DESIGN

Thank you so much for those that leave comments for me!! The card today was cased from one of Gina K's videos last week. I had to use what I had so I used my nesties for the sentiment. And I love this shade of gold/yellow and I think it was my last sheet. Had the packs for a long time and I think it came from a Stampin' Up pack. Hope you enjoy it as much as I had fun putting it together. This card is pretty quick to put together once you have all the parts ready. Well I love it anyway. Think I will send one to my Navy guy just because the color is so cheerful. Maybe it will hold him over until we can get his care package put together & sent. Hot, hot, hot outside today and I am trying to wait until the sun goes down before I venture out to do anything. We are having our daily late afternoon or early evening rains and it usually cools it down a few degrees at night. Ahhh Paradise!

FOUR CANDY GIVEAWAYS!

If you haven't visited Brenda's blog, Floral Fantasies (http://stamping-fantasies.blogspot.com) you need to go and read all about it. It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun for all of us, while she is away on holiday. I'd post the pics, but my computer is so skittish lately I try not to push it's little computer brain to much. I'll be checking it out again tomorrow and all of the nine days, intrigued yet?

Raining most of the day, probably coming over to the west coast of Florida from the east side, where the storm came in this morning. Haven't checked the news lately to see what is happening. I did a little run for some stamping supplies & have been working in my OCS card (done - I think) and one for my sailor grandson. He says he never gets mail - I told him the computer does not take the place of a written note or letter and if a person wants to receive snail mail, they need to be sending their own out. Well we all know how far that will go, but since I am such a "nice & loving Grandma and an easy touch", I will send him a special card. Have a wonderful and fun weekend everyone.

JUST A HELLO

Good morning and what a beautiful day it is out there. Will probably be in the 90's again, but the sun is shining and it is gorgeous. Received an e-mail from my grandson in the Navy and he said everyone is receiving care packages. Yikes, I seem to have forgotten about the care package for this deployment. Shame on me!! Called my sorority sisters and gave them a heads up about pulling some items together and get them sent. It takes a long time for mail to get to the ship so we need to get busy. He asked for snick snacks, magazines, books, Monster Energy Drink. Told him I didn't think the cans would go through customs, but someone must be getting away with sending. Besides I think the shipping cost would be more then we could manage. So will send the boxes of Crystal Light, etc. you know the little tubes you can add to your water.

Here are a couple of cards for Organization Write Home for the next box. Oh my, I need to go to the post office today or tomorrow with the box that is already done. Can't seem to stay caught up any more. The image is a stamps from a package of freebies I received with one of my card making magazines - Bently Bears. The second card has a computer generated sentiment - You're On My Mind. added after I took the pic. Have a great day folks. Leave me some love.

HAPPY WEEKEND...

everyone. Looks like Stampin Up is having a blog hop this weekend - VC Rocks, so check out the blog. Kath has a lovely heart box on Penny Black Saturday Challenge, all the gals have outdone themselves once again. Waiting for Elisabeth Bell to post the winner of her candy today. Sure would do my heart good to receive and I would share with a good friend if I ever did. My kitchen is still minus a working fridge. Have done my pet sitting for the morning and will return this evening and then one more day. They all come to see who is coming in to the house and then return to their favorite spot or go into hiding, they are so funny.

Hmmm, Dulcie is whining to go outside, so better take her before she decides to do a naughty. Have a wonderful weekend.

NEW BACKGROUND

After problems with my laptop, AGAIN; and trial and error I have managed to get one of the new Suzanne Woolcott headers/background on my blog. Hope I spelled her last name correctly. Ya just gotta love her designs and her stamps. Hope you like.

Well the freezer section of my fridge just died and I think the fridge part is going or gone also. Good thing I only had two things in the freezer. Guess I will get out my cooler and buy ice until I can figure out how to get a new fridge. Always something and life goes on. Have a great Thursday.

WAITING FOR NEW BACKGROUND

Wouldn't you know, I took off my header and column design, BEFORE checking to get my new design picked out. That website is currently off line for maintenance and so I now have to wait for it to come off maintenance. Do not know for how long. If to long I may have to go another route will give them a couple of days.

ELISABETH BELL CANDY

I have been having a problem getting a direct link on here for Elisabeth Bell's blog, so will type it here: http://www.elisabethbell.com.blog/ I do not know why, but clicking on this takes me to a
Road Runner page? When I type it in as the url address it takes me to the blog. I am weary trying to figure out why, so just type it in.

Have a great Sunday. It is warm today, but doesn't seem to be as hot as it has been, or maybe that is wishful thinking. I am working on some note cards to sell after the first of the year at a community festival this weekend and after I get a few of them done I need to get another box ready for Operation Write Home. I know there are several of you that also support our troops through this organization, thanks to you all.

ELISABETH BELL BLOG CANDY

If you have not been to visit Elisabeth Bell's Blog you had better check it out as she is once again offering a more than generous Candy as pictured above. You have until 11:59 p.m. Arizona time, July 16th to enter, bet it will be a long list as we all love her sweet images. Good luck everyone, one of us is going to be very excited on the 17th. I have tried to get her link on my blog, but it is not taking it so far. I will try and get it on here tomorrow. I am tired of fighting blogger, my computer, or me for right now, sorry folks.

SILLY ME

A funny thing happened to me yesterday taking the dog out for its morning outing. I used the side door to take her out, mind you now I am still in my nightgown, and set the closed in porch door so it would not shut and lock. OF COURSE, something went wrong and the door closed! Here I am with all doors locked, no windows open so I can take the screen out. I knew the inside kitchen door to the porch was unlocked, so I found a sharp stone and cut the screen out of one of the porch windows that were open, moved the recycle bin under the window, crossed my fingers and prayed that I could climb up on the bin and get my leg in the window (mind you I broke my right hip just about a year ago) and not take a bad fall. Well I got my leg in and now I am half way in and my right leg is not touching the floor and I am not feeling to good about sitting halfway in on a sharp window frame, so I just very slowly kept inching my way over and finally made it onto the porch. Usually I have an extra key down the street at my friend's house just in case, but here I am in my nightgown. I came right in and found an extra key that I am now going to have to find a hiding place outside and get my side door fixed so it doesn't lock on me. I know you all can relate to this, who hasn't done it at least once, oh ok so you haven't.

My son is suppose to come over and put a new screen in my front door, oh boy wait until he finds out I ripped apart two more to get into the house. Look out retirement home, here I come.

I hope to be able to get a new background on my site and some cards over the weekend. Been so long since I redid my site I hope I can remember how to do it. Until then, enjoy your weekend.

LAZY THURSDAY

Hi everyone, how are you all. I had planned on working on my OCS today until I started looking for the die I had planned to use and discovered I had returned it to my girlfriend, so I either have to reborrow or come up with a new design, urrrr. I had posted the painted statues of the horses in the Ocala town square and am going to try and get the other one on here today, remember these were taken in the dark so not a clear as could be during the day.

I have been thinking about offering some candy, but I really don't have enough people visit me and leave comments, so until the day I receive at least 20 comments I don't think it will work. So leave a comment good, bad or indifferent. I welcome any hints or suggestions. I realize I am a very simple cardmaker as I don't really have the income to spend like some of you fortunate peeps, so I have to make do with what I have. Not complaining just stating the facts. So if you visit just leave a little ditty for me and I will see what I can pull together. Going to be another hot day in Florida, at least the evenings cool of a lttle bit.

JUNE OCS

Will I ever master this image process on my blog? Guess I should be happy I get it together even if it is not what I planned, LOL. This is the card I sent to my OCS. Very simple as usual. I left a window on the inside so it could be used for her own sentiment if she wanted.
It stopped raining in time for the fireworks last night and then started raining again and it is raining off and on. I really don't mind the rain, in fact I love the sound of rain especially at night, and we need it badly for our lawns right now. Had a quiet day yesterday. My friend who lives down the street has me to supper a couple of times a week and I finally got her to come down here last night and I fixed spaghetti and sherbet(pineapple, lime, and orange swirl). It was a nice evening. Today I am lazing around and thinking of what I am going to do for the July OCS and I should be cleaning and shinning my wood floor, ha. Hope you all enjoyed your extended weekend with your families.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

Hi everyone and Happy 4th of July. Let's work together to keep this country the best in the world. Remember if you aren't working to solve the problem, then you are a part of the problem and I hope some high up people start getting this very soon. Enough said.

It is a rainy day here in Florida, but it almost always rains on the fireworks night, hopefully it will clear up for the evening. I will not be doing anything special, since the kids are all grown now it is not a holiday we share as a family. A special shout out to the crew of the USS Harry S. Truman, my grandson's carrier and they are on deployment - we love you all and thank you for your service and sacrifice! We are all so proud. I was going to post a pic of a beautiful shot I had of the flag flying in the breeze, but as luck would have it - it seems to be missing from my computer. So be sure and go out today and see how many you can find in your community. Have a great weekend and a safe 4th.

HAPPY FLAG DAY

Good morning everyone and happy Flag Day to all my fellow Americans. I love it when everyone has their flags flying. I have a couple of cards to post, but need to get them into the mail today or tomorrow before I post them. This evening my sorority sisters and I are going on a boat ride on the Manatee River and then to the River Rue for dinner. After the other day I am feeling just a little funny about going out on the water right now, but I am sure I will enjoy watching the sun go down on the Gulf as seen from the water as it is always beautiful.

I enjoy all those who post pics of their craft areas! One of these days everything may be brought back to my house and I will finally be able to put everything in one room especially for crafting instead of having to go from one place to another. By the time I get it all together I sometimes have lost the mood, know what I mean. Have a great day, it is suppose to be well up in the 90's again today, but I am trying not to complain as I complained all winter about the length of time we had cold weather here in Florida, or what is considered cold here. Hard to believe I grew up in the Midwest where it is REALLY COLD in the winter. Well off I go to finish checking out my blogging friends. Have a wonderful day!!!

FOLLOW UP

I wish to thank everyone for your prayers for Michael and family and friends. They called off the search at dusk last night. We all knew early on it was a long shot to finding him. And God has chosen Michael to come home to him. I am sorry I had such a sad, sad post, but I felt he needed all the help he could get, so thank you again for your prayers. And PLEASE when going out on any kind of boat wear a safety jacket!!! Being a great swimmer is not always the answer, accidents happen.

PRAYERS NEEDED

I wouldn't normally make a request such as this, but I feel the need today. I ask anyone who may read this post today to pray for Michael Taylor of Bradenton. He is my granddaughter's boyfriend and last evening they were out on a fishing charter in the Gulf and Michael reached for a rope and fell overboard. There was blood in the water so it sounds like he may have been hit by the propeller. In any case the coast guard choppers and boats and many local fisherman are still out trying to find him, 10:00 a.m. It does not look good, but if you would please pray for a miracle for this young man and his family it would be very much appreciated. May you all have a great summer. Hugs to you all.

Thank You, Birthday

Here is one of my favorite stamps to use. I love using the versamark and chalk on it. I made a thank you card for a sorority sister who brought me a lovely candle as a housewarming gift when I moved back into my home. The top one is a birthday card for my 2nd. oldest grandson who will be 25 tomorrow. The thank you card is SU - Uppsy Daisy and I think the birthday is a Penny Black, but I am not sure.

I would love it if people would leave me a comment once in awhile, whether good, bad, or indifferent it would let me know if anyone is looking at my blog even though I don't always post all the time. Thanks so much.

Continue

Sorry my computer & I are fighting so am doing another post. I know I am behind in posting my friends OCS cards, but as I have said during my move I thought everything was organizzed, what a laugh. So as I run across the newer cards I will post them. Sorry gals!!

The pics are of the town square in Ocala, Fl. Each corner of the square, except for one, has a sculpture of a horse which is painted with all different kinds of scenes and images. The longer you stand and look at one the more you see hidden in the scenes. The artist's name is Amilcare Santini. The last card to show is a gift holder card for my just graduated H. S. granddaughter.
S. granddaughter.

OCS CARDS & SOME PICS

The first card is from my OCS partner Berenice of Mexico City for March.

HIGH HOPES RELEASE/DUSTIN PIKE IMAGES

Don't forget to check out the new releases by Dustin Pike at High Hopes on June 14th!!! I am excited as I have just begun to look for images for boys aprroximate ages of 5 to 16 and they are more difficult to find then all of our lovely little girl images.

CRAZY BUSY

Ok, I lied. I have not had time to posst any pics. So many things to take care of this week and tomorrow I have my granddaughter's high school graduation. Way to Go Tess! Then Sunday is her graduation party. Had our sorority meeting at my home last night and the beat goes on. So as soon as this weekend is over I really must get back in the groove. Have a great weekend! Thanks for the note Curt.

BACK ONLINE

Hey, I am finally back online. Computer went down and then I moved from my son's home back into my own home and just got cable and the computer hooked up today. Also, now have a new camera - so I hope to get back to creating and photos soon. My craft things, which I thought I had packed so carefully and organized, did not turn out so well. I am still looking for things and trying to put them away - it is turning out to be a long process.

My sorority sisters and I went on our annual weekend getaway on the 15th & 16th. We stayed at a very nice Countrywide Suite and visited a small town, Micanopy and on Sunday we went to Silver Springs. I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd town settled in Florida. It is a cute rustic Florida town, the main street is about two blocks long with mostly antique shops. Rolling up the sidewalks at 5:00 p.m. We had a great time and are thinking about taking the bus trip to Savannah, Ga. next year. The park three of us live in takes a few trips a year and they are thinking of a bus trip to Savannah for next Spring. That would sure take the pressure off of trying to decide who is going to drive their vehicle and how many people can ride in it. Not everyone has a van, so taking a bus trip would really help out there. So we are just waiting to see when it is and the cost. None of us has been to Savannah so we are really excited about going.

If my May OCS partner should read this I have gotten your card sent out to you and I did receive your adorable card. Will try and get a pic and put on here some time this week. I have so much to do around here, getting reorganized I think I will skip the June OCS. So maybe I can jump back in in July.

Well I am off to browse everyone's blogs. I know I have missed so much. Have a happy!

MEGA CANDY

If you haven't been to My Crafty World, Tiffaney's blog, you need to check it out. She had earned a stamping cruise and is offering mega candy during the cruise. Check her blog to find out how you can get in on this generous offer from her. I love cruises and being on me for stamping, how cool! Have a great time Tiffaney!!!

LOOKING FOR NEW CAMERA

I am so upset that I had to deep six my Nikon camera!! Looked at Wal-mart the other day to see what they had to offer, not much. A lot of the camera's on display were not in stock, what a way to run a business. And none of them had a view finder, other then the digital flipouts. I have a hard time using those as the sun always washes out the screen and you cannot see what you are shooting. Give me back my view finder, plus. The clerk said so many people have brought back their cameras for that very same reason. So guess I will keep looking until I find one I like and the price is right. Have a GREAT weekend and I am looking in on everyone.

HAPPY EASTER

Good evening everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your Easter Sunday. We did not have a big family gathering for Easter. Everyone sort of does their own thing. My grandson is home on leave from the Navy before his next deployment and has been making the rounds of family & friends as it will probably be another year before we see him again. I am trying to get him to notifiy me in time of his returning dates when they are told, usually not until they are ready to deploy back to home base. I have really wanted to be in Norfolk when his ship pulls in, but need to make motel reservations and have us all cleared to be allowed in. Last time they had the wives/husbands of returning sailors draw lots as to who got to be right up front, at least I think this is what they did, they may do this every time. Anyway I get all tearyeyed just watching a movie and seeing the ships returning. The WWII movies always showed them coming in under the Golden Gate Bridge. It is so emotional to see them all lined up along the rail in their whites. So I am hoping I get to do this when they return this time.

This is the card I did for my March OCS. I am hoping she has already received it. I believe all the cardstock & DSP are Stampin' Up and the stamp is one I got a long time ago at Michael's. I love this stamp, but haven't used it much. It is fun and easy to color. Again, I used various brands of watercolor pencils. I hope she enjoys it. I think it is a happy image!! Well off to lay my head down.

JUST A HELLO

Have a card to post, but it is on its way to my February OCS in another state, so I need to wait a few days before posting just in case she happens to look in on me. Over the weekend I finally started looking for all the card fronts I have either received personally or the ones my friend, who is a former SU Demo, gave me a long time ago. Rather then having them sitting in a box or album I decided to look through them and see if I could put them on a base card and send to "Operation Write Home". I am happy to say that has been accomplished, made some room and have sent them on to some most deserving service people to use. Usually my sorority gals help with this. So now wait until I tell them they have to start doing their own images, etc. LOL I know they will pitch in as this is one of our annual service projects for our chapter. If I had a camera I would take some pics of a few of them. I don't want to ask my son to set them all up since he is working 12 hour days again. Just went back to work from a three week lay off and another long lay off is coming up at the end of May. This is really hurting, plus my not having a job yet. Yeah, I know things are tough all over and there are people worse off then us, we are just bless that at least two of the three living in this home still have some kind of a job. Well enough rambling for now, I will post again for sure when I think my card has been received.

Hope all you Floridians have been enjoying our great sunny days this week. We certainly waited for it long enough. Be save, be happy.

MALE CARD

Hi all. I bought a punch a few years ago when I had just started card making and the friend, who was an avid card maker, made fun of me for buying a punch she said there was nothing I could make using it. I told her then she didn't know what the punch looked like to me. I found a card I did back then. See if you think I made good use of the punch or not. Used silver cardstock for the punch item.

The punch is from the Nostalgiques collection from EK Success. All cardstock is from SU. I do not remember if the designer paper is SU or not.

Late St. Paddy's Day

Yes, I am late with my green positng. I am not real happy with this card, but here it is anyway. I know a lot of you love doing 6 X 6 cards, but they seem to be too much card for me to handle. I have had several functions for sorority lately and that seems to be taking up my time, should calm down after this month.

Cardstock & DSP - Michael's open stock

Scalloped Oval - Sizzix Die on my Cuttlebug

Shamrock - Cut out and used Verafine ink and dipped in green

embossing powder

A tent card - first try on this card

There you have it. Everyone have a great weekend!!

Three Cards

The first card is the card I received from our dear friend Curt of Curt's World, aren't you jealous. Thank you so much Curt for thinking of me I will treasure it!
The second card is the card I received from my February OCS through Terri. It is on lovely shinney cardstock and don't you love the ribbon and shamrock. Thank you Mary C.
The third card is a card I made for the ABC Christmas Challenge. We are to use red, green and a fairy, if no fairy we could use a gnome. Someone had this type of card on their website and I am sorry I do not remember who. It is a pull up card that lays out flat. It was fun to make, so thanks to whomever's site I saw it on. If I run across it in my meanderings I will give you credit.
My camera has died and my son took the pics for me, not so great, but at least I had something to post. Just finishing up a St. Paddy's Day and hope he will agree try again for me, or let me take the picture. He is very guarded about letting anyone use any electronic, computer, tools, you name it. Guess that really is a good idea considering the cost to replace. Well have a great week and I will try to post my Irish soon.
