SENT JUNE RAKE

I am posting the June RAK I made and sent to Linda in Hawaii. She has a much better pic of it on her blog. Waiting for the July RAK name. I am having a big problem with blogs staying up on my computer because of the pop up and nothing so far has worked to rid me of this frustrating problem. Unfortunately Jen's is one of the blogs that I cannot keep up. Whoa is me. Hope you all have a safe and fun 4th of July!

WEEKEND FOR THE GIRLS

What a great weekend!! My sorority sisters and I took a 3-day weekend and stayed at a beautiful Victorian Bed & Breakfast in Mt. Dora, Florida. The host and hostess were wonderful. We went to the historic district and shopped Friday afternoon and had dinner at The Frog and Monkey Pub, a fun little place and good food. I had cottage pie. Saturday MORE SHOPPING in the historic district, didn't take enough money of course. Probably just as well. Had lunch at the Windsor Rose Tea Room. Are you beginning to think that there is a little British flavor there? That evening we went on a sunset boat ride around Lake Dora and a connecting lake and then dinner at the Gables. It was ok, but we liked the others better. When I get a picture out of my camera I will try and get it on the blog. If you are ever in the area I would recommend you stop in Mt. Dora if only for a short time. OH MY GOODNESS, I almost forgot. I went to the stamp store (yes this small town has a stamp store, with more goodies in it then Michael's (who carries not much lately in Bradenton). And the first items I looked at were stamps from My Favorite Things, which is in Eustice just a few short miles from Mt. Dora. Imagine my surprise and delight. Any who, hope I can go back to this store again. They even offered to do a class for us if we could let them know in advance when we would be there. Isn't that generous of them (The Stamping Station). I bought some things I haven't been able to find and they carry some things I want, but they were out of stock. Need more days like those and get away from th real world for awhile.

CANDY AND MORE

WOW! Check out the totally generous candy being given by Enfys of Going Buggy. She is just to much. I just love checking her blog every day and sometimes after I come home late at night from work. She is a wonderful and delightful lady and designer. http://GoingBuggy.blogspot.com

CARDS FOR HEROES

It looks like the bloghop for Cards for Heroes was a big success over the Memorial Day Weekend. I don't know how many of you participated, but as the grandparent of a Navy guy, I say thank you for your support! I am so slow at card making that my sorority decided to make our annual donation to a community program to the Cards for Heros postage fund. We received a very nice certificate from them with my grandson's name on it. They certainly do not have to spend their money on these, but it is much appreciated. We have donated to other city/county programs in our area and they do not even acknowlege the receipt of the check. I understand they do not want to spend money on postage any longer, BUT we never know whether it was received or not. Until recently we sent money orders and have since opened a checking acct. I did do the Card for Heros through my personal debit card and instantly received an on-line receipt. Still working on my monthly RAK and thought I would have it done and mailed by now, what ever was I thinking, LOL. Soon, soon ---

CANDY ALERT:

Move on over to Donkey Smiles for some great CANDY!! Just found her blog and have become a follower. See my sidebard for her blog. I am so sporadic in my posting and getting cards done and picture. Hope my life settles down pretty soon so I can get some focus back. Should have a card to post by Monday for my June RAK partner and then I have a birthday card to get done. Though I would get these done on my two days off, but at least one will be done (I think). I do check daily for my favorite blogs, hummm perhaps I should create and not read so much. LOL, but it is so much fun to look at everones creations what can I say.

MAY RAK RECEIVED

I am sorry, but my pictures are pretty lousy. I do not have a good place or lighting at this time. But I will post anyway. I received my lovely card from Colleen Kwan in California, and look what else was there to surprise me - foam dot stickers, some bling, and the most treasured of all - a paperclip bookmark. I can certainly use them all and I am an avid reader, so the bookmark will be well used. Thank you so much Colleen!!

A WALK IN THE PRESERVE

Well today was a day off for me and I finally got around to driving out to Robinson Preserve and walk to the viewing tower. You can see Anna Maria Island and the Shineshine-Skyway Bridge. There was a nice breeze, but still warm. Guess I will get my bike fixed before I go again and see if I can get further on the paths. This preserve is to keep the local seagrasses and saltwater plants in existence. Very nice walk and it ends just a couple of blocks from where I work, and all the residents walk it since it is so close. Well enough about something I did today that I have put off for weeks. I have been working on my Aloha June RAK also today and I need to take a pic of the May RAK and goodies I received. Hopefully I get off my "...." and do that and have one more thing of my "off work to do list". See you later.

FINALLY BACK

Well I am finally able to get on my own blog site. Have been having real problems getting blogs to stay up, don't know if this is a Blogger/Server problem or my laptap. A friend who has worked for major computer companies and taught in colleges computer classes, says my computer is fine. Well Blogger is really frustrating, if it is a problem with them.

Well on to my card. Very, very simple card that I sent to my May Rak partner. Going to try and be a little braver for June. Anyway, here it is. tWhoops, how did it get to the top, oh well at least I have mastered getting it onto the site. LOL Hope you are all having a great day!
