Yes, I am still around, just very busy trying to get two grandchildren to and from their jobs every day and having the baby with me on one round-about. Soooo, much gas used and is a real problem. I also had a sorority regional luncheon and our chapter had the centerpieces to do and now that is finally out of the way. Now trying to concentrate on Christmas. My youngest son had Thanksgiving at his home and we had all the favorite dishes for dinner. But neither of us is into cooking a big meal again for Christmas, so we think we will be at his home again, but will only have finger sandwiches, smokey links, snacks, drinks, that way no one has to cook unless they want to bring a hot dish to share. Will still be a good evening.
ICED PUNCH
My grandson who had been out of work for 8 months obtained a job at Orban's Nursery, largest poinsetta grower in the U.S. and local through his cousin. We are praying they will keep him as a permanent-full time employee after season. This poinsetta is called Iced Punch and the pic does not do it justice at all. I attended their Open House and had no idea of the number of different varities they grow. They just got better and better.
I plan to get the cards I am doing for Christmas posted next Wednesday for WOYWW. Have a wonderful weekend.

WOYWW - #163
Hello gang, hope you are all having a great week. I am typing this on Tuesday as I have an early doctor appointment tomorrow morning, only the third one this week. Dr. is doing some tests on me.
Last Saturday I attended another technique class with Joey Long of Keeton's Art and Office Supplies. I have laid out 5 of the projects that have not been put to use yet. The butterfly on the black background was done on vellum with white embossing powder and colored with Twinkling H2Os, so you cannot really see the color as it is so pastel, but very pretty in reality. Did the tag with a background lined stamp and Tim's Distress Inks (sorry don't know which ones), but I like the way it came out and I may use the vellum butterfly on it with a saying stamp at the bottom. The top butterfly was stamped with embossing power on the page of an old book and colored with my colored pencils. The next one is a chunky piece with several layers of embossing power and then stamped and sprinkled with various powders, mica flakes, etc., my first experience with that technique. The last piece was stamped in gold and colored with the H2Os. Hard to see that I colored it purple. We had another project using some mica powder and I did not like working with them at all, project looked terrible so I ditched it. Well better not go on too long here. Thanks to all that may drop by.

Oh my gosh it is already going on 5:30 p.m. Brits' time and I am finally getting around to doing something for the day. Worn out from doctor's appointments this past week and at least 3 more to go so far. Hopefully these are all a precaution and no need to get alarmed yet. Won't go into all now. I am still trying to figure out how to use my latest new fish stamp for my son's birthday coming up. Need to work on that some more today.
Today is the 4th of July, Independence Day for all of us in the United States. Going to a sorority sister's house for a cookout this evening. She lives by the river a few blocks from where they set the fireworks off, but Cheryl and I have already told her we will come and eat and visit but do no intend to stay and walk to the river for fireworks. I quit doing fireworks a long time ago.
Well here is why you are really here, my table. Hasn't really changed much from last week except for the addition of the Twinkling H2O's. Thanks to you who commented to me last week.

The paper with the fish to the left is my experimenting with the H2os. Need a lot more practice! The small blue is a mesh stamp I hope will look like a fish net, once I get the fish looking fairly good and layering it onto the mesh. My hands don't always carry what I see in my head down to the card. LOL Have a great week and a safe and fun 4th to my fellow Americans.

WOYWW - #160
Wow did I have an all day fight trying to get my post onto the computer last week!! I finally found a place to return me to the "old" Blogger interface, which to me is much more user friendly. This week we have Tropical Storm Debbie playing around with the computers off and on. Too much water. I personally welcome all the rain as all our yards look like brown ______. Finally looking green again, much more pleasant to look at believe me. I got to as many of you last week as I could, but I am sorry I did not leave all a comment. Computer was just to flaky and time consuming last week.
I finally bought some Twinkling H2O's, but have not been brave enough to try the yet. Was suppose to attend a class this Saturday, but it has been cancelled and rescheduled for the last Saturday in July. I have to heavy a hand to use markers, don't know why I think these will be any different, but will give a good go at them.
Table with bin of various scrap pieces, glue & tape, friend to friend stamp, friendship stamp, inks, hairspray for chalks, designer papers, a paper stamped with a net stamp ad a new stamp of a sunfish.
A friend to friend card.
I have make a few birthday cards this week and will try and get a couple of pics this evening. You know my lighting is never very good, LOL. Ok so maybe it is me.
The messy table.
Hope to see you on the rounds. Have a great week. Still have rains coming in here from Tropical Storm Debbie for a couple more days. Sun shines and then the rains come more sun, more rain, no flooding in my immediate area, but many people around the state have a mess.

I have been off the computer for awhile. Though I did manage to get around and check out some of my blogging friends the past couple of weeks. I also managed to get two birthday cards made and they are setting here waiting to be delivered. I have a grandson turning 27 and a granddaughter turning 21. I don't think I posted my ATC from Laura in New York. None of my pics are very good, just can't seem to take one without a glare or flashback.

If you remember seeing the small butterfly cards I made as place cards or a gift card you will see I took one of them and adhered it to background paper and then onto a regular A2 size card. Not much else to see as I had to clear my table somewhat for a sorority meeting. Hope you all have a great week! Check out as many of you as I can. And a big thank you to those that visit my blog.

Haven't been up to a lot this week. My swap partner received her ATC already and hopes to post it on her blog today. I finished my son's birthday card and am disappointed with it (well me). Too late to try a do over so this is what he will get. Off to take grandchildren on their errands today, actually it is 1:35 a.m. my time and I am suppose to be in bed.
The ATC's were fun and I look forward to doing this again and maybe get better at ideas, etc. Thank you Julia for all the hard work you do and for organizing again this year. Well will get pic posted and then I am off to bed.
Thank you to everyone who visited me and left comments. I got just a little over half way through the list. I did not leave a comment for everyone, but I tried. If I try and make it through the list and leave everyone a comment it can take me through Sunday evening. Have a great week and am looking forward to seeing all the ATC's. My has not arrived so will post next week.

Goodness time sure flies. Here we are at #156 and our ATC's are ready to go. As you can see by my desk/table I haven't been able to do a lot lately. Currently working on a birthdaty card for my oldest son (do not ask how old). I have received the cutest stamps from Whiff of Joy by Alison
Acton. He is several years to old for the figures and since he loves music I am using the old phonograph. My time has been spent taking various members back and forth to doctor appointments for the past several weeks. Checkups for our little sweetie g-granddaughter. Had to drive them to St. Pete yesterday for an ear test. She is perfectly fine. Lori is awaiting her dates to start chemo.
My sorority did get our 3 day weekend in Naples on the beach. Sorry no pics. We just chilled our and ate a lot and enjoyed each others company. Oh that's Naples, Florida not Italy (we wish). Well off to get me on Mr. Linky and go blog hopping. Have a great week.

HAPPY POST
Came home today to find a small package waiting for me - my very own WOYWW badge. Thank you so much Julia. That was really fast.
Long winded this morning, sorry will try not to get carried away again. Also no idea why so much space at the end of entry until you get to comment section.

Well I am finally up and about. By the time I get to posting in the morning you bloggers from across the seas are already thinking of what to have for your evening meals. My table is a little messy as I have made a birthday card for my granddaughter's 21st. birthday tomorrow. I had some butterflies left from my last project and decided to try and use them for her card and this is how it turned out.
My lighting is not very good as my colors do not show as bright.
Starting from far end is my computer, a bottle of Windex to clean the table top, a sheet of paper to test the stamps I am using, a piece of designer paper, a book, my coffee and Pepsi (what you say?) , Stazon in refill, a packet of cards made you have already seen over time, plastic box with doodads for cards, my cutter, a stamp, tape, cards from last week, etc.
Julia I hope you get well fast!
Just received a phone call that my oldest son's girlfriend got her test results back and she has a malignant tumor in her breast (she actually has 3 tumors) and is scheduled or surgery on Friday and they will then also biopsy her lymph nods. She afraid my son will leave her and the whole family plus my son have assured her that he loves HER not her body. She is scared to death, but trying to stay strong in faith. Then I get another call from my son asking if I can take his father, my ex, to his surgery on Friday. Lori who is having surgery was suppose to take him and now I am the only one left that can sign him into the hospital. People say I am too nice and the others say I am crazy, but he is the boys father and over the years I have let the anger and hurt go and we manage to tolerate each other or the kid sake. So needless to say I can't be with Lori as I am taking over the other hospital run. I will pick up Brad from work and take to his Dad's house to spend the night and I think we are taking Lori over there also. Well a week from today it will all be over and we will deal with Lori's chemo and get her on the road to recovery. I don't care to believe that fate would put these two people together after all they have been through over the years and they have one of them terribly ill or worse. So please if you wish would you please keep this couple in your prayers this week. So that is my upcoming week, guess it will keep me busy, LOL. Until next week stay well and happy. Hugs.
To those who stop and left comments I thank you so much! I didn't quite make to to everyone and I am sorry to say I don't always leave or am able to leave comments for everyone, but I am lurking about.

It seems I am having problems getting my posting done. Nothing published as #139. So here is a short post and am trying to publish again. Wish they would quit messing around and trying to make things better.
First image are three cards I did in a class I attended. The second are some small cards that may be used as gift cards, or anything you want. I have made a set of 4 each of different butterf;ies to give to my sorority sisters on our Annual Getaway Weekend the weeked of May 19. We are only going about a 3 hours drive south to Naples, Florida, but it is a time for us to getaway from all the everyday drama of our lives and have some fun together. Well I will try and post this entry now.

Hey, hello everyone! Think I am finally getting my house back in order since the grandkids moved. I am in the process of moving all my craft goodies back into the spare bedroom. They are scattered on the enclosed porch, the bedroom, and as you can see in the picture all over my table. But, the table does finally have projects done or in progress. Will show next week when they are done.
All my colored pencils, an envelope of finished and half-finished cards, my cutter, 2 Martha Stewart stamps, some sorority paper work, and my computer, etc.
I am looking forward to the ATC swap as I haven't done any for a very long time. I hope I can come up with somethig passable.
Six of my sorority sisters are going on our Annual Weekend Getaway the middle of May so am excited about that. We are going to the beach in Naples, Florida and staying in a condo. They have an A.C. Moore Craft Store in Naples, so hope we can make a "quick" stop there. LOL
Have a great week and I will visit as many of you as time allows.

Well as you can see there is no crafting on my workspace. If you read my previous post you will know that last week was spent mostly at the hospital waiting for a great-granddaughter's arrival. I left the hospital on Thursday evening to attend a sorority meeting and they had planned a surprise baby shower for me, so I would have things at my house for babysitting, LOL. In the middle of it I got the call that she was finally here! I arrived back at the hospital at 10:00 p.m. and just in time for the staff have me help them move mother and baby to their permanent room. Wow, they let me push the baby, but did not let me out of their sight. The baby had a monitor on her leg so it would sound off if someone tried to leave the unit/floor. So that was pretty cool. I did not post pictures of children on the computer as a rule. But I am going to show you how generous my sorority sister were and just one of the baby when she was just under 2 hours old. Enjoy and see you next week with hopefully something done.
I will visit as many of you as I can. Have a great week.

SHE'S ARRIVED!
Our family's newest bundle of joy arrived at 8:30 p.m. on March 8. 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 23 in. long. Mom was sent from Dr.'s office on Tuesday afternoon to have fluid in placenta checked and they kept her. She finally had to go through two different types of inducements and then broke her water. Things are definitely different then when I had babies!! But, after a bit of little problems she is finally here and they did name her Serenity Louise. She is adorable and this is the first day I have not seen nor held her and my arms are screaming. LOL Congrats to my grandchildren, you did a great job and I am loving my precious great-granddaughter. I may post one pic later, right now I need to sign off. Have a great week all.

ALONE AGAIN
Well the grandkids have moved into their own apartment and the baby is due. We are all so anxious to meet this new little member to the family. They are naming her Serenity. Took her to hospital last evening, but it was a false alarm. BUT, it's suppose to be very soon, so says the medical world. Ah that babe will come when she is ready. I have done hardly any crafting during their stay with me and now I am in slow process of getting all my crafty stuff back into the spare bedroom. I am posting the card I did for her wonderful baby shower. Maybe my girlfriend's birthday card, if I remembered to take a pic. All for now.
I cased this card from Cardmaker magazine, March 2012, but I did not have the dies so had to do my own thing. This is done as a round card in the mag (pg. 72). The ears on the bunny and elephant are attached with dots so they stand up a little. I think it came out pretty well. Sorry no birthday card. So long for now. Leave me comments, please. Stamp ordered from Gina K Designs "Basket Blessings", MS punch, various papers and cardstock. Original card designed by Giovana Smith.

STILL AROUND
Hi everyone! I have not been posting as I have my grandson and his fiancee living with me and their very energetic puppy. They have been looking for an affordable place to live - in a good area of the city that they can afford and they also need to get another car. They are expecting and hope to be moved into their own home before the baby arrives (they are getting married, but cannot pin them down to a date.) He wants his brother as best man, but he is in the Navy and has to wait for a leave. I asked them to go get married at the courthouse and then have a ceremony at her Mom's when Mitch comes home. No go on that! Well what do I know, I am from a totally different generation, LOL. Anyway that's more than you probably wanted to know. They are taking me with them to talk to a prospective landlord tomorrow, and I hope they are not setting themselves up for failure money wise. I am such a worry wart. But, they need to start their own lives and have their own home. I will miss them and I won't miss them. But hey, I will have a beautiful new little great granddaughter to care for when they are working. Bless you all and have a great year.
